ABOUT CLARA

Clara was born and raised in Cali, Colombia (South America). She attended American schools there and mastered both the English and Spanish languages. When she was 18 years old, she and her husband moved to the United States, where her first daughter, Cyndi, was born. She divorced when Cyndi was 7 and became a full-time working mother. She also became a U.S. citizen. The adventurous Clara chose a career as an international flight attendant with Pan American World Airways. Although she flew regularly and traveled the world, Clara always made sure that Cyndi was lovingly taken care of by family and friends during her absence.

In 1983 Clara remarried, and 2 years later, her second daughter, Laura, was born. Three years after that, Clara’s third daughter, Erin, was born. Clara has three wonderful grandchildren: Amanda, Noah, and Tyler—all Cyndi’s children. Clara, her daughters, her grandchildren, her mother, and sons-in-law are a wonderfully tight-knit, loving family.

Clara’s family and friends know her as kind, funny, and outgoing. Her love for travel and adventure is contagious and resulted in many memorable trips with her loved ones. She is a strong woman with a heart of gold, always willing to help and stand by family, friends, and sometimes even strangers. Clara is an amazing spirit and an even more amazing mother and grandmother. For decades she has been the backbone of our family. She has always been there for us, and now we want to be there for her.
